I like the comfortable feel here. The servers are friendly and attentive. The Asian salad was fresh and enormous, but a bit sweet for my tastes. The salmon was very tasty: moist with flavorful garlic mashed potatoes and a lemon sauce that I’d like to try at home.
Nice place!. Nice classy decor, but right on the edge of campus so gives you a sort of look in the past feeling for Berkeley. Great banana pancakes and breakfast fare.
Mother’s Day Brunch was great. My wife, daughter and I had brunch here on Sunday and really enjoyed our meals. We were seated in one of the bow window booths and were able to do some people watching of passersby on the sidewalks of Durant outside. I had their variation of a Greek salad which was tasty. It included golden raisins and roasted red peppers along with the expected romaine, cucumber and kalamata olives. The dressing was light–just right. My wife had the huevos rancheros and my daughter, the berry pancakes, which she devoured. The service was very good and the atmosphere light and pleasant. Prices were very reasonable. We’d definitely return.
Historic Spot near Cal on Southside. This place actually deserves a much better vote than it’s gotten. Food is really pretty good — service is good, too. Try the Cobb Salad. Mainly, the booths in the bay windows overlooking the sidewalk on Durant are a great place to see the students pouring to and from class at about the turn of the hour.
