Food was okay. But the chicken satay is a total disappointment. They basically put peanut butter for the peanut sauce that is not suppose to be like that and the noodles are too soggy.
Don’t fear the spice. The website and the sign on the wall will try to impress upon you the difference in spiciness standards between Indonesian and American palates. But if you are accustomed to very spicy Indian, Sri Lankan, Thai or similar cuisines, don’t let them scare you off. Some dishes like rendang can be prepared at the higher levels, for others they provide chilis on the side that you can mix in. Rendang and yellow curry very good. Bacang only available on the weekend.
Wow, amazing Indonesian/Singaporean food!. Great great food in a smallish restaurant that’s been going for about 30 years. Great, friendly service and owners, wonderful menu and excellent food; Had a Nasi Uduk Jakarta which was just perfect, then went back to try their signature dish – Mie Tek Tek; it was as advertised – delicious and nicely balanced!A note about spice – On the second visit I noticed on the wall a chart; apparently they serve all dishes at spice level 2; you need to ask if you want more… level 3 is considered ‘Indonesian level’, so I tried that but found it still not quite spicy enough. If you want heat, go for 4 for perhaps closer to ‘authentic’.
Nice people. Food was better than good. But not realy Indonesian, Rice taffel was pleanty but disapointing. More like Thai And there is no potatoes in Indo. food.Go for the nasi or the bami goring. Worth trying park on the other side of the block in lot across the street.
Tried rijstaffel sampler – great value lots of food – egg roll, soup, and beef rendang are great. Sate good too. BUT BUT BUT the Otak Otak fish roll is absolute nastiest thing I EVER tried to eat – almost barged it at the table
Don’t order the otak-otak! it is one of the worst dishes I’ve had. everything else is good. Rendang is very good!
Has lots of variety of yummy Indonesian food and the price is amazingly cheap!!
