Best fried chips, best fajitas, best slushee margs, best servers who really care about patrons. Best thing that ever happened to Berkeley. Its all run by men so there’s no cattiness among servers.
I ordered the nachos with grilled chicken with guacamole on the side. I had it delivers so maybe it would be different if ordered in house, but I was actually pretty disappointed with what arrived. Most of the chips were soggy and there was just way too much in terms of toppings. It was all meat and cheese and too much sour cream, and just not that exciting. The guacamole was pretty good but the chips that came on the side were too hard – not stale, just really hard tortilla chips. I probably won’t ever order from here again.

Love Juan’s. I love the flour tortilla chips and the chili-relanos
Chips are heavy and bland but everything else we’ve tried has been the best Mex in the East Bay. The tostadas enchiladas and rellenos are hot cheesey and mildly seasoned. We order delivery so we have no clue about the place. But based on the food Juan’s place is a keeper.
Berkeley-Mexican. One of those old-fashioned Mexican places with lots of heavy food, all flooded with red sauce. People in Berkeley don’t know real Mexican food.
Fast fast fast. Always tastes the same which is pretty good. Order the flour tortilla chips. The bummer is no bar for real margaritas.
