Short Rib KoJa (dish review). Short Rib KoJa — These babies are what makes KoJa Kitchen so great. Each sandwich is comprised of three components: marinated short rib, fresh shaved lettuce, and baked rice buns. Though the first two items are pretty straight forward, the third raises eyebrows until bite one. Each rice bun is crunchy and crispy on the exterior, yet gooey and firm enough inside to hold everything together. They absorb the marinade and juices well without getting soggy, making for the perfect sandwich bottoms. Speaking of the marinade, KoJa’s short rib, a quick and dirty street food version of the real thing, is very satisfying. Though not of the same quality as other brick and mortar Korean stops, it works in the setting. Each KoJa costs $6, which is a little high, but not out of the ordinary for the Bay Area.03 Jul, 2014Koja Kitchen (Korean Fusion). KoJa Kitchen on Telegraph, the brick and mortar version of the famed KoJa food truck, serves up some of there Bay’s most innovative Asian cuisine. The top choice here is any one of the renowned rice cake sandwiches – known as KoJas – that come packed with meat and lettuce. These little tasty snack sized (and snack priced) entrees cost about $6 each and are about the size a palm. KoJa wins not only with its food, but with the atmosphere. The entire restaurant feels sleek and clean, unlike many stops in the University Village, and attracts a massive continent of college students at lunch time.
