La Val’s Special. I am new to the area and chose La Val’s based primarily upon proximity (it’s a two minute walk) and secondarily on other reviews on this site. La Val’s makes a decent slice of pizza. I can’t say that it is the best pizza I’ve ever had or that the pizza was surprising in anyway- it was just a very decent pizza. The crust is crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. The toppings were quality and La Val’s isn’t stingy. This will be my go-to pizza place from now on because of the ratio of quality to cost. Thanks La Val’s !

La Val’s is Berkeley’s Pizza Joint. Yeah, I know about Zachary’s — and La Val’s won’t make the 10 Best Pizza joints in the USA — but the pizza is very good, and this is their original spot. They closed down the Southside store on Durant at Telly a year or two ago, but this spot never changes. Hard to beat this on Northside
Great Pizza, especially by the slice. Good atmosphere.
La Val’s: underrated. It’s a great pizza parlor, and a lot of people have never heard of it because it’s on northside. Once you try La Val’s, you will never even consider going to Blondie’s or Fat Slice.
