After 30+ years of coming to this restaurant we are sad to say we will not be back. I was hoping the other reviews were harsh on this establishment. But sadly our experience was similar. The food was marginal. Chowder served lukewarm. Lobster served without the butter sauce on one of two orders. And after requests nothing was ever done. This is not the typical M&S food or service. Our server was poor messed up our orders as well as the tables around us. I rarely ask to speak to a manager but in this instance I did as I hope they do something to address the situation.
Would have to say that this long time favorite is just fair now. Had thought the purchase by McCormick & Schmick’s was ok, but now that Landry’s owns it it’s just less than stellar. Service today for lunch was slow and forgetful, although cheerful. Food was good overall but clearly had sat under the heat lamps for quite awhile.
Price = freshness. This is a very good seafood restaurant. It is a bit on the pricey side, but you are paying for the freshness and not necessarily being gouged. I recommend the clam chowder. The wine menu is expansive, and the cocktails are very good. This will be filed under my go-to establishments when friends/relatives are in town.
This place is a must stop after a ball game. Big bowl of hot clam chowder always hits the spot. Glad it’s still around
Go to the Store, get Chowder to go. So glad this place is still going strong. It’s all good, but the best lunch idea is to go into the take-out store and get one of their lunch plates — or better yet, a container of chowder — white or red. Then take it down to the Bay and find a pretty spot for lunch.
So sad so bad. Really not good….I can’t even bring myself to use my coupon for a full FREE meal.
Used to be great…. Way back when before it sold to some movie star’s kid, this was THE place to get seafood. Waits were at least 2 hours and they had dining rooms in every crook and cranny. Now it is just another pretentious seafood eatery with good fish, but with dishes that pale when compared to the old Spenger’s. Ah to have another chance at their crab baked in cheese sauce!
