Oh mastros the memories… My boyfriend (scratch that ex) favorite restaurant. Great steakGreat expensive winesGreat service Great ambianceWhat a difference an attentive server makes when dining somewhere. We were a party of 5, for my best friend bday this past Sunday. We were seated, we ordered a couple wine bottles. The wedge was delicious as always. The oysters were yummy too $4 each. I ordered 3 because I wanted o try them. The corkage fee is $40 per bottle which is crazy lol so we just purchased 3 bottles during dinner. I ordered the 8oz steak medium rare. It came out a little bit more than medium plus more on the well done side. I called the server over and she agreed it was over cooked after checking with her flashlight. It didnt take long to bring out another steak but I had served myself sides and I was kinda full lol. Everyone loved the steak and sea bass. We also ordered the butter cake which was very good. But its way too sweet for my taste. Overall experience was amazing this time around. Much improved from last visit. Thank you very much to the previous manager which I believe is now corporate somethings.
This was the worst steakhouse I have ever been to go. This restaurant was recommended to me by the concierge at the Peninsula where I was staying. I had reservation for 830 and was not seated until 9:00. I was told that I would be on the Penthouse level. This place was so loud; I ordered my steal medium well and it came out medium rare. I ordered saut broccoli and got steam broccoli. At that point I was furious.
Fun Fun Fun! Such a nice place to book dinner at. We visited it on a friday night the ambience was great the live band was very entertaining! Food was delicious, the filet, the shrimps, great cocktails… and of course never miss the butter cake dessert AMAZING!
When ever you think is having a yummy steak then you first think of Madtro’s steak house. Ambience 4/5: This place is huge with 3 levels. 1st level is quite. 2nd level is with live music which is a little loud. Level 3 is for the young lively crowd with DJ and dance music. This penthouse roof top is young, fun, hip, chic, great atmosphere, good vibes, good music, soft decor and overall more lounge like with all the amenities of Mastro’s. Food4.5/5:Beverages- The lobster cocktail is a great start. Food-The steaks are all good, perfect and amazingly very tasty. The bone in ribeye tasting as if it was just made for you, juicy not chewy, just perfect. Chilean sea bass known as Pentagonian tooth fish just melts in your mouth. Big eye tuna, simply delicious!!! Their lobster mash potatoes are a amazing side dish. A terrific selection of potatoes and veggies to suit every taste!!! A dessert wine, Inniskillin Riesling ice wine, the best . Wonderful place for a nice meal where everything meets your expectations from food, decor, ambience to their service.
Give me a break. I now see why Americans are dying from heart disease nothing saturated fat and high priced cheap steaks from Micheals in Ohio what a joke
The RUDEST welcome. The interior is very tacky. Not sure about the crowd. We were so disappointed we did not even eat. Can’t comment on food. Craig’s is a MUCH better option or a steak frite at Terrine on Beverly
Not even close/Might consider alternatives. After several suggestions from friends, I booked a table at Mastro’s Steakhouse in Beverly Hills. Someone must have been missing the in the kitchen and certainly they were missing in the meat cutting room. Here is the lowdown:Nice atmosphere – very clubby, yet better designed that most Morton’s or Ruth Chris. However, needs a dress code – guests in ratty jeans, trainers and t-shirts. Some wearing ballcaps. Not acceptable. In addition, with the every nice lounge and other places for phone use – way too many phones and attendant light and noise in a dimly lit room. Management should have a no phone policy and enforce it.Excellent Welcome – Wonderful host and front of the house crew. Patient, kind and accommodating. However, the seating policy should be altered to allow seating when most of the party has arrived. We were two, I parked just a few spots up from the front door and was in the restaurant within minutes. My partner was not allowed to sit down at the table until I arrived 2 minutes later.Excellent and Attentive Service- Good team of folks to serve each table. Ran like clockwork, yet seemed personalized and friendly. Paid attention while ordering, and made solid and smart suggestions without being overbearing. Professional and hard working.Food: Because it is a steahouse, all the steaks should be superstars. Ordered the $58 (24 oz) Porterhouse – the king of steaks. Requested medium rare and no seasoning. Came out with no seasoning and cooked a bit on the medium side of medium rare — however, since the steak comes on a high temp heated plate — the steak continues to cook (and not rest) and adds at least one level of tempeture in a matter of a few minutes. If you enjoy the steak without rushing, the medium rare quickly becomes medium plus. This issue needs attention right away – or suggestions from the Wait Staff to request cooler tempeturs while ordering to compensate. Porterhouse was thin and dry. Very, very disappointing. My Partner enjoyed a veggie plate, excellent steamed greens and onion rings. Good quality, good size portions and quality preparation.Ordered both Mastro Salad (iceberg lettuce, shrimp, tomatoes, blue cheese crumbles, etc) and Chop (iceberg, cabbage, tomatoes, kalamata olives, artichoke hearts). Mastro was excellent, very large (could be shared) good ingredients and generous amount of shrimp. The Chop was a disappointment with only two kalamtas and one piece of artichoke. (The attentive staff asked to fix the problem, we declined because we were not going to eat more of the salad and he removed it from the bill – we did not request removal).Bread serving: Good variety of pretzel roll, sourdough, cheese toast, french roll and a couple of others. Very fresh and good quality. Only salted butter — seems that the kitchen would have unsalted.Soup: French onion was good but not great. Broth was boring, cheese and onion components were good.Overall an average meal at very high prices.
