The best Italian food to be found outside of Italy in the Los Angeles area. Make your reservation and invite your best friends, you won’t be disappointed.

As good as any place in LA. Authentic Italian food from an Italian kitchen. Don’t be fooled, it’s fantastic

A Hidden Gem!. A wonderful little family owned and run restaurant in a decades old shopping area of Long Beach’s Lakewood Village district, it is easy to miss when driving. Located on a street diagonal to Lakewood Boulevard and Carson streets, it occupies a small storefront formerly occupied my a mideastern restaurant.Totally redecorated by the family, it lacks the glitz of those chain Italian places and has a homey atmosphere.Nonna whooshes about the dining room and kitchen, directing the employees to do this and that. There are about 15 or so tables and a nearly full crowd on Friday and Saturday nights. If this place is local to you, you can also go in on a weeknight and have one of several appetizers and a glass of house wine or another wine by the glass and with tip get out for less than $15.However, I think that you will probably graze on several appetizers once you have tried just one. Like the appetizers, the entrees are also very reasonably priced, not cheap, but well priced for homemade Italian dishes. While there are mostly traditional dishes, there are a few regional specialties. The wine list is unimaginative but priced well. Most regions are covered but with less than stellar examples of the region…I believe last time I had a glass of a decent Verdicchio with my appetizer and it was $4.95. Where do you find a $5 glass of wine any more? Not even house wine! The only thing lacking I see is pizza. That is what draws the big crowds but I expect demand from the customers will lead to this addition on their next menu revision.Relatively new during the summer of ’08, this restaurant will only continue to grow, unfortuanately for me, getting busier and busier, filling weeknights as well as weekends. Open for lunch daily also except dinner now served on Sundays.
