This place was good but not as good as it was hyped up to be. The sample was fun. It just simply isn't the best tacos in LA but definitely still tasty…

Guisado’s Tamales. While I liked the tacos at Guisados like just about everybody else, I wanted to mention the tamales.Smaller than most Mexican tamales, you could call them cocktail tamales because one will definitely not fill you up. But they have several types that most tamale places don’t make, I liked the Strawberry sweet tamale best. The cheese, and meat tamales were also superb. They do seem to run out of tamales, when I tried to buy a dozen of each kind they had to take home they didn’t have enough. They can’t whip up a new batch of tamales if they run out early, like they can for tacos which have a much shorter prep time. I prefer to take the tamales home as the restaurant itself is a little hole in the wall in a run down stinky neighborhood, not a comfortable place to relax.
Friendly, helpful and efficient staff serving the most delicious, tasty, and satisfying tacos in all of Los Angeles!
Gourmet Tacos. Possibly my favorite L.A. restaurant dedicated to tacos.
Clean morden and lovely!
Tacos at their Best. I tried the chuleta in salsa verde and hongos con cilantro. I like to think I know a good tortilla these were perfection. ‘Both tacos were delicious but the pork chuleta won out with the most flavor. The melon agua fresca drink was good. I’m going back to try everything else.
Very good. I’ve eaten at Cook’s Tortas a few times and the last time I was there I saw an ad for Guisado’s. Decided to try it today. I ordered the six mini-taco sampler and each one had it’s own distinctive taste. The tinga de pollo was rich, the taco de hongas con salsa de cilantro was very flavorful, almost meaty tasting, in short, all were delicious with a real depth of flavor. The amuse bouche( yes, they offer one to each customer) was called Green Cream. It was an incredibly tasty cream of cilantro soup, but a bit thinner. My description isn’t doing it justice. Served in a small cup to drink, it was the just the thing for a cool rainy day. I will definitely return.
Gourmet tacos without the gourmet prices!
