Good Food. This is a local hot spot for Mexican food. Nothing extraordinary but good, solid, inexpensive, stick-to-your- ribs food. The tamales are pretty good and I consumed them for years before going elsewhere. The tamales are heavy on the masa and tend to get a little dry. If you buy them early in the morning when they are fresh and moist and eat them immediately they are wonderful.

Change in Tamales. Lilianas isn’t worth patronizing anymore. They dropped my favorite tamale, cheese with chile salsa, and now only make cheese with chile strips. All too often the tamales are almost all masa, with virtually no cheese at all.I’ve eaten Lilianas tamales for thirty years, so it pains me to say they aren’t worth the money any more. They increased the price, and cut back on the ingredients. The rest of the menu is only passable. Cheese Tamales built Lilianas reputation. They used to sell them on the street, on the corner of Ford and Ceasar Chavez before they opened their first restaurant. It’s the same man who sold them on the street corner who is still making them now. He has to know the quality has plummeted. You could get better tostadas at a school cafeteria.

Pretty Good !. Liliana’s is pretty good food, although we have yet to try a few more dishes. The Sopes ( Shredd/Beef ) are good but not great. Mari tried the Gordita ( Shredd/Beef ) she said it was ok. as for the Posole it did look like the bomb. We will return back to try other dishes. We rate this place a C++.
