Always, consistently excellantAbsolutely delicious! We come here every time were in LA. Super bummed that they discontinued their cornbread however. It was the most decadent thing on their menu. Hopefully, it will make a return. Bone in rib eye was enough for 2 and seared to perfection. Ask for extra Rutherford steak sauce, good stuff! Served with roasted tomatoes and blue cheese or the pomme pure that are the best mashed potatoes Ive had. Hubby had the tri tip and enchiladas that arent a traditional enchilada but a vegetable/cheese version of the classic. Great sauce, flavorful without being exceedingly spicy. Tri tip right on point, juicy and tender. Followed by that banana cream pie that is not to be missed! Crust is slightly thicker with roasted nuts to support the weight of the pie. Cream slightly vanilla with the perfectly ripe bananas! Glorious….now just bring back the cornbread!!!

Not sure what some of the other (disgruntled?) reviewers are commenting on, as Bandera is fine! We started with the ‘guac’ which was so magical we had a second serve. Then followed up with the ribs. The meat fell off the bone, yet didn’t suffer from being fatty nor ‘wet’, just perfectly braised. The sauce was thick and well seasoned while not being at all salty or too rich. I thoroughly enjoyed this dish. The service is warm, attentive and very welcoming, while the surrounds and live music are just what the doctor ordered after a long day at work. Also, do the meal justice by ordering their margarita (or two)!

I live a block away and was looking for a place to get a good streak close by but Bandera had HORRIBLE service! Next time I will know better and take the short drive down to BOA in Santa Monica and not have to wait 15 minutes for a drink or package my own desert to take home. I really regret leaving a 20% tip on a $140 tab with horrible service!

Best banana creme pie. I am hearing excellent reviews of Bandera’s banana crme pie. Just wondering if I can have one shipped as a gift? I have a friend who cannot seem to find a satisfactory banana crme so this one has to be it!

I may give it another chance but my first impression of this place is: Somewhat pretentious and overpriced. I also got the distinct impression from most of the staff flitting around casting constant urgent glances that they were really eager for us to leave. It’s a sore spot with me when I have things that are in front of me cleared off the table when I haven’t been asked if I’m finished. And as we were standing up collecting ourselves to leave, there were 2 or 3 people replacing the table covering practically climbing over us and pushing us out of the way. The thing is, we didn’t order drinks and I suspect this is why. The food: for this kind of money, I expect a clean plate and silverware, and a bit higher quality presentation and flavor for the main course. I will say the warm beet and burrata salad was excellent however. The reason I may be back is I didn’t have a steak/beef dish and I think this may be what they excel at here. My salmon was slightly undercooked and the mashed potatoes a little crazy with all the green onions. I’m not sure what the big deal is with the banana cream pie. Nice but nothing spectacular. So if you’re going out for food and drinks you may have a better time than I did, but for the money there are much better choices in the area.

Wonderful pre-Thanksgiving Family Meall. Wonderfully attentive waitstaff, great appetizers (dip trio, salmon), finely presented and spectacular flavor from an assortment of entrees including lamb, prime rib, trout, and macho salad. Capped by signature Oreo dessert. Found management to be completely focused on the customer experience with their frequent inquiries as to how we were doing. Expect to be frequent returnees. Great experience as the holidays begin.
