This place is quite a surprise. Located in a boring mini mall on Santa Monica Blvd, the inside is beautifully and traditionally decorated. And it was packed on a Sunday at 530pm! All food is made fresh so nothing is sitting around under heat lamps. Shrimp al Diablo were spicy and yummy. Oaxacan food is known for mole and it didn’t disappoint, though it may be too sweet for some. Also ordered the tejate, an indigenous maize and cacao drink, but it was too watery for my taste. Should have stuck with horchata. Coconut sorbet was great. Next time definitely want to try the ceviche.
