A few years ago we visited Paoletti Vineyards Winery in the Napa Valley. It was a wonderful experience, and owner Gianni Paoletti invited us to visit his Brentwood Italian restaurant, Pepone.We finally made it! Among LA’s myriad of excellent hipster eateries, Pepone offers a refreshingly different experience. Traditional perfection in taste, service, and atmosphere. Pepone is where to dress up to go, to be waited on properly, and to enjoy rich, exquisitely seasoned sauces and dishes, perfected from traditional Italian recipes.I knew that Mr Paoletti had been the Chef at Pepone, but assumed that he had delagated the kitchen to trained staff. I was mistaken. Gianni Paoletti was on site and personally prepared each dish with pride, passion, and artistry, in it’s individual pan, and the effort was evident.Can recommend escargo and cauliflower appetizers, veal osso buco, and of course a bottle of Paoletti wine.Valet parking available.
Gustatory. Traditional high end Italian restaurant. Plush, fun, filling. Take out available.
