BEST IZAKAYA, EXTENSIVE SAKE LIST & UDON BAR. HANDS DOWN BEST IZAKAYA IN THE LA AREA. NEW UDON BARAuthentic, tasty dishes, varied and unusual sake and shochu menu plus draft beer… a relaxed vibe, chillin’ music, friendly owner and staff and OPEN LATE. I have spent a lot of time in Japan… and this is as close as it gets without the plane ticket. No sushi but sushi in an izakaya?! That’s like serving steak in a vegetarian restaurant. Sure, there are more popular and noisier (Musha which I really like for its fusion dishes but it is not really an izakaya). They also just added next door a reasonable Udon and noodle bar which is open for lunch and dinner – soul in a bowl!
