An super salad bar, a choice of several soups, breads, pasta, some desserts. Not gourmet, but truly satisfying for those who like salads and soups. Seniors and children love it.
I rate souplantation a 2.5 because it confuses me every time I visit. Yes the choice is massive, the bread is freshly baked throughout the day, the pizza is piping hot and tasty. But the salad looks as if it has been out for days, same story with the pasta. The staff are very happy to tell you that they won’t be making anymore of a dish even if its 2-3 hours before closing. The desserts again are confusing, the hot brownies and muffins are great but the jelly is a let down. Funnily enough, I have never tried the soups here. I will probably return as it is an easy option when dining with a large group of varying ages and everyone has different needs and wants.
Don’t bother.. Back in the day, this was the place to go for great soups, salads, at an affordable price. But several years ago, they had a rodent infestation, and we stayed away for a long time. Their head office was very flippant about it, like it was no big deal.Anyway, we made the mistake of returning recently, and found their soups no longer fresh tasting and the salads were just average.
Use to like this place. But recently the crowd there has been getting to me. People bring their obnoxious kids and allow them to run all over the place and wreak havoc on the food. A little disgusting. Control ur children people. It’s not cute to the rest of us.
I’ve been to this location lots of time & I like the food there. One can certainly get their money’s worth with soup, salad, muffins, baked potatos, pasta & desert. A previous reviewer mentiond about the noise, which is a definite factor at this location. If one sits outside, the noise isn’t so bad! I like all of the food choices & enjoy the self-serve yogurat/ice cream at the end.Kudos to Souplantation for giving people a good, fairly healthy meal for a reasonable amount!!
I love this place!. I love, love, love souplantation. if i could eat here everyday, i would, but unfortunately, i turn into a big ole piggy when i dine at souplantation so i need to self-regulate and cut down on my visits. that being said, the brentwood location is the closest one to me (@ 1 or so miles) and i dine here every 2wks or so. since i am a creature of habit, i stuff myself silly with the shredded carrots, zucchini, the tangy broccoli salad, shredded cheese, crumbled eggs and chicken soup. unfortunately, but the time i am done piling on the cheese and eggs, my once extremely healthy salad transforms into a big pile of cholesterol. =) oh, how could i forget dessert? i always top myself off with a frozen yogurt with a blueberry muffin. mmmm!! the brentwood location is not for the faint of heart though as the place is PACKED with families with a bunch of crying babies and kids running around. the place is a bonafide zoo and is extremely loud, but hell, you are in the middle of LA so deal with it. =) i thoroughly enjoy coming here to people watch as i chit-chat with friends and nosh on veggies and soup.yay for souplantation…where i can pig out and not feel guilty afterwards!!!
Jazzy. Actually, Souplantation, Brentwood, Los Angeles, is not ALL healthy. For a start, the soups are WAY too salty. Out of the 5 or so choices for soup, they should at least offer one that’s low sodium! The salad bar is ok, but ”some” items are left out too long. The pastas (usually a choice of 3), are covered with thick cheesy, salty sauces (not exactly healthy.)Another thing. They hardly EVER have sugar-free desert items or baked goods for diabetics or just people who WANT sugar-free stuff! If they do, then they’re few, and far between!
