Just Okay. I have been here many times. Mostly because there is not much else in the area. The ambiance is fantastic. The food is just OKAY! I find them to be a little cheap. The steaks are on the skinny side. I asked for extra butter for my bread and I was told they couldnt bring out extra butter until I finished the butter I had because the cook would get upset. Are you kidding me? My husband was charge for exchanging his vegetables for extra rice. Yes folks! I did say that. This Vic Stewarts is not nearly as nice as the one in Walnut Creek. However, if you want to have a banquet, baby shower or other get together, its beautiful inside and has great ambiance. Just dont expect great food!
The ambiance of the bar and restraunt is wonderful!20 Nov, 2011Service was excellent on a not very busy sat eve. Not many choices for healthy nonsteak eaters. Tuna appetizer for dinnrr was fine for me. Larrys prime rib was leaner than most. Asparagus was a perfect al dente.
A returant B-Wood could do without !!. We ate at Vic’s for a second time last night and wished we hadn’t. We had reservations for 6:00, so as not to be late, my party of six adults showed up at 5:50. The woman behind the reception desk told my wife that it wasn’t 6:00 and she would seat us at that time. At five after six, we were seated. The problem I noted was that there weren’t ver many people seated in the restraunt. Water glasses were filled and approximately 10 ninutes later a small warm loaf of sourdough bread came out from the back. Twenty minutes later our waiter appearedto take drink orders. I’ll list the rest of the problems by number. 1) The waiter didn’t ask us if we ever wanted to order any appatizers 2) Took waiter another 20 minutes for two drinks and a glass of wine 3) Wife’s prime rib had a cut of beef which had large portions of fat. She ordered asparagas which was hardly cooked. It had a bitter taste as well from not being cooked. My father in law’s salad was served on a warm plate instead of a chilled one. I had the Halibut which tasted very good. The only draw back was a small piece of fish seated, on a mound of mashed potatoes. A small house salad and a vegtable shoud be included with the price of the meal. It seems as though they are happy with ala-carting everything. They need to look at serving better cuts of meat and adding soup/ salad/ and or a vegtable with main courses. A jack danials and coke should be just that. They charged for a single coke and a single shot of Jack. Every other place I’ve been just gives you a single price for each drink you ordered. I don’t mind paying for good service one bit but, with all the problems I encountered last night, I gave the waiter a $ 6.00 tip. The total price for six people was over $200.00. I would had gladly given him 40-50.00 if he had just done his job. Needless to say This is one restraunt B-Wood could do without. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Stay away !!!!
To Steak Lovers Review. Hey steak lover get off your high horse about living in Brentwood like you are something special, I live in Antioch and I do not have a problem going and dropping $400.00 a meal just like you do. Maybe you should stop looking at the sky with your nose up in the air and look down at your food. I love the fact that people think by where they live are better than others, So what if you live in Brentwood or Disco Bay that has nothing to do with this place. So let me get to Vic’s intsead of your ingnorant ass. I love the place and you are right it is nice to have a good steak house that we can sit and enjoy. I have been to many steak houses and it is up there. I get the Rib Eye but is does not compare to Ruth Cris but it is good a would have to say. Anyways people go and enjoy it for yourself and just remember it is not where you live that makes you a good person or that you have money.
Very Good No Nonsense American Food. Brentwood’s smartest dinner setting. Opulent, comfortable decor. Abundant space between tables and booths. The rib eye steak is A-1. The salads are scrumtious. There is a superb oil painting in the private banquet room depicting an early 18th century dining scene of whigged Englishmen at table. The detail is superb. One of the men has a little hammer for cracking his lobster. It is quite jolly. Anyway, the service is spot on. We’ll be back.
Great!!fantastic food. 🙂
EXCELLENT. After reading some reviews I had mixed feelings but our experience was GREAT, service was GREAT, food was GREAT, etc. It was my birthday, party of 3. A Friday night, Not inexpensive, but it is not Chillis people…it is well worth it and we would return. We had drinks, food, dessert, stayed almost 2 hours. The scalloped potatoes are delicious, our 13 year old loved the mac/cheese. Steaks are not platter sized but there was plenty of food, bread was hot, spinach is excellent. Did not have salads but apple pie rocked! Waiters were very attentive…Go & Enjoy!
