Not much to look at: set in an arcade that has seen better days and the place has mismatched chairs and handwritten signs. Thats all part of the atmosphere. The food is the focal point although the menu is pretty much limited to tacos and tamales. But there are lots of delicious choices for fillings – all authentic and well seasoned. It is a pleasure to watch the fresh tortillas puff up on the plancha and know they will be on your plate in a few minutes. The aquas frescas are also the real deal: horchata, jamaica, meln and limn. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They even sing while working the plancha. And the prices are amazingly low. Dont be put off if there are lines when you get there. Everything moves quickly.
