This isn’t fair…. I’m obsessed with the earl grey biscotti ice cream. So obsessed I needed to go back and buy a pint for $10 .Ten freaking dollars!!! You know it’s good when you can buy way more ice cream somewhere else for that price.Also tried the pb and jam. Pretty good but didn’t love getting the actual scoop amount.Carmel Apple something….. whiskey praline omg Good luck picking. It’s almost impossible
The ice cream was delicious, but the portion sizes are so skimpy!!! I payed $4.95 for barely any ice cream. It was over priced and not worth the small amount I received. If you’re looking to get ice cream, try another place that is more generous with their servings. Very disappointed.
Onward to my other stop, McConnell’s ice cream.They offered many creative flavors included Churro con lecheand peppermint stick. I ended up with the super delicious Eureka lemon and Marionberries, and Turkish coffee.The lemon was amazingly bright, refreshing and light, it almost tasted like I had sorbet except it was ice cream. Turkish coffee on the other hand was strong, bold, yet just enough cream to make it creamy. Both ice cream flavors were excellent and made with great fresh ingredients.As we were chatting up with the store lady, she mentioned that their other store haddirect competition from the newly opened, Portland-based, Salt& Straw. In my opinion though, they did not have to worry — McConnell’s was definitely better than Salt and Straw. doofniks.com
It is hard to review ice cream flavors. My taste is extremely different from what others seem to like. So the ratings are based on the 4 flavors I tried Salted cream and cookies Pink Lemonade Churro con Leche Chocolate Almond Brittle The service was quick and the people behind the counter were extremely nice and helpful.
