Delicious! OMG, taste this! Try my pasta!Took a museum break for lunch which we reserved in advance. Chef worked at French Laundry. Service was great and quick. Server correctly offered a taste of wine first. Pasta has a wonderful dense texture, amazing. Grilled peaches with burrata so savory. Dishes are shared. We ordered two pastas. Superb. Open until 10 PM. We would go here before a performance at Disney Hall. Otium sits outside The Broad.

Beautiful modern space with a lot of energy and a bonus of being able to enjoy the play of light on the tiles of the Broad museum in the background. The waitstaff is very helpful without being intrusive. The wine list is extensive but also expensive. As is the current fashion there are a lot cocktails with strange ingredients – like peanut butter – but the old standbys are well made. The menu is wide ranging with unusual ingredients and unusual combinations, but everything we had was pulled off beautifully. The falafel was the best I’ve ever had. The squid ink bucatini was delicious with ribbons of tender cuttlefish. The cloverleaf roll makes you remember your mom’s – but better. Everything is meant to share, and they recommend two choices per person. That’s about right for your waistline and your wallet. In my grumpy opinion the sound system is too loud, but these days that’s to be expected in trendy restaurants.
