Last night at Pinot Grill. Visited Pinot Grill last night before a performance at the Ahmanson. The service was very good, the menu limited but okay EXCEPT for the dessert. There were three choices and we chose the Strawberry Shortcake. This is what it consisted of: a crispy wafer, topped by a thin slice of stale pound cake, topped with about a teaspoon of strawberry syrup and a tiny bit of whipped cream. ABSOLUTELY NO STRAWBERRIES!!! How they had the nerve to call it strawberry shortcake, I have no idea! Did they run out of strawberries? Then they should have told us. At any rate, $10 for the above, means it’s not a place I’ll return to soon.
