  Best breakfast I’ve had hands down here in the Los Angeles area.This place has been popping up all over my feed on Instagram so quite naturally I was going to pay a visit. I arrived to be greeted with a line. This made me excited to see the crowd it was drawing in. It was pretty hot outside but I didn’t mind as ice water was offered by the staff while we waited in line which was great.Before we were seated, we had to place our orders and pay at the register just after the entrance. This method is new to me and very effective for someone like myself. Usually before visiting a restaurant, I do my research and nine times out of ten I already have my mind made up for plates to order…but there’s the process of being seated, ordering drinks then waiting for the waitress to return before placing orders for plates. Not to mention waiting on the check to arrive after. This eliminates that entire process with menus for viewing while in line so it’s straight to the grub once you’re seated.The staff was nice and plates were brought no more than 15mins after seating. First up was the smoked salmon eggs Benedict. I’m not a fan of salmon that’s more on the fishier side in flavor so this salmon having the flavor of a ham in my opinion was great. Next up was the pulled pork hash, PURE AWESOMENESS!!! The pulled pork was great and the portion of both the hash and meat was generous. After this dish was the rib tips breakfast burrito. I’m not the hugest fan of most breakfast burritos as eggs and hash usually override the actually taste of meats but I’m sold on this one. This burrito offers nice flavorful pieces of rib tips that stands out in flavor. Last is the winner of this breakfast which was the buttermilk fried chicken and waffles. This dish was amazing!!! The chicken was flavorful, flaky, juicy, tender, and was boneless with the exception of the wing. To compliment this along with the waffle was the maple syrup and smoked honey butter…high five to the chef for this butter. DELICIOUS!I was very satisfied with this dining experience and of course I left stuffed. There’s so much more I want to try from the menu like the fried chicken sandwich and the poppy burger. With that being said, another visit is inevitable. This is a great place for food.Visit date 8/23/2015

  Just wandered in after a stroll around the flower market and was pleasantly surprised. The food is good, menu is mildly fascinating and service is slow.Cappuccino Chai latte Poppy grain bowl Lumberjack breakfast

  Yummy pancake breakfast and fried chicken and waffles. Service is friendly and there are fresh flowers everywhere! What more could you want 🙂

  This review might be a bit biased, but here we go: I was disappointed. This place has been on my list for a while, even though I’m not a huge fan of southern food (which is pretty much what they’re known for). I’m also currently on a weight loss plan, so I went ahead and ordered the steel cut oats with fruit. The oats were salty(??) and I didn’t receive the brown sugar I requested on the side. No one ever came to check up on us, either. Hopefully I can go back sometime in the future and order their popular fried chicken and waffles. #poppyandrose #dtla #healthy prettyundecided.blogspot.com

  I’m not a fan of eating fried chicken and when I first saw the chicken and buttermilk waffles I was kind of disgusted to be honest, but after rocking it on a Friday night, waking up to that was the best decision in my life. Not only the food was amazing, but the service and the atmosphere of the place all blend in to make your morning/afternoon a really smooth ride. Will definitely come back!
