Great Steak Dinner before Staples EventWe had a wonderful steak dinner at the Palm before attending a concert at Staples. On par, with the top end steak houses especially the filet mignon. My husband had the prime new york, although flavorful, tougher than I would expect for a prime new york. The highlights of the dinner were the lobster bisque soup…best I have ever had and the filet. Sides were also very good. Brought our own wine, after reading comments about the price of wine, but actually they are about 2 times retail which is less than good steak houses in my experience. Corkage is $40/bottle. Dinner at 5:00 and we had plenty of time to make 7:30 show.
Thieves!. Beware the shady practices at this restaurant! Our group of 12 was tagged with a flat water fee that we were not aware of until the bill came. It was over $80! And the manager didn’t only refuse to remove it from our bill (which was over $1,000) he also lied about having informed us that we would be paying for water.DO NOT eat here unless you’re in the mood for being ripped-off.
Great restaurant to have a great steak or enjoy a big lobster. Just a little expensive if you ask for too much food. Waiter very friendly. Classic American restaurant
I’ve been a Palm customer for decades on New York, but last night I had the WORST lobster I’ve ever eaten at the highest price. The 3-pound lobster was so tough I could not stab the meat in the tail with a fork and even the claws were overlooked. $75 and when I complained they offered to give me a frozen lobster tail to take home. I’m a food writer, but when I’m off the job, I seldom complain. This time, I want the world to know and stay away. A horrible experience!
Great Steak. When you’re in the mood for pure meat – this is the place to go. The atmosphere is great but it’s all about the steak. It’s not drowned in butter – not hidden with sauce – not thin and weak – just good absolute meat the way it was meant to be.
Nice Steakhouse steps from Staples. If you ever need a dinner idea while near Staples or Nokia, this place is definitely worth a shot. Meat is always very fresh. Staff has usually been attentive all the times I have stopped by. Celebrity caricatures all over the walls for you to stare at while waiting for your food. If you order a piece of cake for dessert…be warned that its almost a quarter of the cake. It would take 3 hungry people to finish it. Prices are what you would expect for any steakhouse.
