One of the best ever. If you like chili, you have to come here.
Oldest Restaurant In Burbank. The building is great. Debbie has put a lot into modernizing and bringing shelving, etc. up to current codes. A lot of hard work. The Green Bay Chili John’s is still around in Wisconsin as well. Recipe dates back to 1902. All the history is at ChiliHistoryMuseum.com – check out the info on the wall mural. Lunch is served soon after you walk in the door – great steam table design.
This place is for serious chili lovers such as myself . They have a wide variety of different chili dishes and they are all great . I’ve Been eating for over 40 years and I always leave happy

Chili Dog so big, requires knife and fork. Chili John’s in Burbank — incredible!
OK Chili. I have to start off by saying that our waitress was great. She was so attentive, friendly, and genuinely interested in educating us since it was our first time there. I chose the tamale with chili. We all agreed that the chili was good but the food was a little overpriced. My chili wasn’t piping hot. I like it really nice and warm. There were no fries or cornbread either. WHAT? But the pies for desert were amazing 🙂 Our waitress let us sample the lemon and the pineapple and they were great!
Best Chili in LA? Maybe.. I’ve only eaten at Chili John’s once and I had the vegetarian kind that is made from Bulgar wheat. It was really quite a amazing I thought. I also tried my friend’s meat chili and it was top notch. They didn’t use ground beef, which is a good sign. Also, the building and ambiance is really reminiscent of mid-western restaurants. I can’t wait to go back.
