I came here with my bf on a date and it was nice but cramped lolI hate eating so darn close to people, it depends on the day, ambiance and venue.This is a random little $$$ restaurant in Burbank. Made reservations with no problem, it was awful finding parking in the residential area. There was no valet at the time, Im not sure if there is. Apparently I think you can park across the street in another area but it was too late.Walked in and it was literally the size of a small hipstery cramped cafe. Soo small and intimate.The little wine beer area is cute.We were seated kind of in the center, the reason I dont like how small it was, was because we ended up with no space on our table lol.But anyway, We ordered the oysters, they were pretty good The seafood risotto and the hanger steak. They literally brought out my risotto 15 minutes before the steak and when the steak was out it was over cooked and there and wrong. The server figured out before placing down on the table.I then asked if my food could be placed in the back or something cause it was already cool and if it could be brought out together. Sure no problem.Both came out a little over 15 minutes later and my risotto was all dry lol. Understandable but I mean……At least a glass of wine or something for waiting and the mess up.Other than that it was cool. This is one of those place I would give another try but not like a I must go back kinda place. So if you dont like small and wanna hear everyones convos then Id say skip it.But if you dont mind and have $$ give it a go.
Finally! A destination restaurant in Burbank!. When we were offered an amuse bouche to begin our meal, I could hardly believe we were still in Burbank. We loved absolutely everything we ordered — oysters, lobster croquettes, seafood risotto, ahi tuna tartare, lamb chop, hanger steak (the BEST) — and can’t wait to go back and try everything else. The service couldn’t have been better — expert AND personable. No more need to travel downtown or to the westside for outstanding and interesting cuisine. We’ll be regulars at Commonwealth.
