Help calling Mingalaba. I’ve been trying to call for 2 days to set up a reservation for dinner. Nobody has answered, no answering machine since Monday, 12/2. Couldn’t find them on Opentable.com for an online reserv. either. Advice??
Gustatory. This Burmese restaurant in Burlingame is a welcome addition to the complex of Burmese restaurants in the Bay area. Busy place, good food, nice environment.
Small place with Great food. I was meeting a friend who is vegan for dinner and we decided on Mingalaba. Place was packed on a rainy Tuesday night, but our wait was only about 5 minutes for a table.Eric our waiter was great and did a wonderful job describing the veggie options. Food was fabulous so of course I ate too much of it.Next time I travel thru SFO, I am sure to go again.
Absolutely top notch. I spent the better part of four years living in Indonesia Thailand and Vietnam. This place has the most realistic caricature of the food they serve over there. It’s as beautiful as it is flavorful. I had the curry lamb the coconut chicken soup and one of their salads. All three were amazing. I ate there at 4 PM Pacific standard Time on January 11, no crowd and the service was exceptional. The place is very small and parking is tight so if you go on a weekend I would recommend trying to make reservations or call ahead.
Definitely worth the wait.. They won’t seat you until all your party is present, and the reason is because they are sooo busy that they can do that. And you know what, they are actually that good.Food is ver tasty. Almost all dishes on the menu is a good hit (but then it really depends on each person.)
Vegetable curry…. Did not like their mixed vegetable curry…the vegetables were partly raw and the curry sauce was not cooked well and long enough (the fine curry granules were felt in the bite and tongue). Loved the pork curry though and other dishes.
Wonderful!. Five of us went to Mingalaba. We found the service very fast and the food extremely tasty and varied. Most of us have had a lot of Asian food, and found the Burmese dishes unusual and delicious.
