We’ve been eating here for years! The last time we got food to go it was horrible. Pretty close to in-edible. The hot and sour soup smelled rancid the moment i took the lid off. Very sad because food used to be great.

Don’t Bother. We have been going to Chester’s for 40 yrs and have noticed a steady decline in service and food quality while the prices keep going up. The final straw was ordering take-out at 4:55pm tonight and being told it would be 30 min. After arriving just after 5:30pm, I was told the order was almost ready. After waiting another 15 min, I was told they were packing up the last of my order. I spoke with Keith, one of the owners, after my order was finally brought up at 5:50pm, he told me they were very busy (4-5 tables) and it wasn’t his problem. I didn’t need to pay $60.00 for 4 dishes and get this kind of attitude. So I left without the food. Went to another local Chinese restaurant, got the same order, paid $40.00 and was home before 6:30pm.

Go For the View. Although many locals claim that this is the best Chinese food in town, that’s a sad statement for Camarillo if it’s true. The food here is pretty typical low-end Americanized Chinese food. Often very oily, with a somewhat uniform taste regardless of what you order. Their spicy dishes aren’t – even when you go to the trouble of telling them you truly want it spicy hot. The best thing about this place is the decor – not at all what you’d expect for a strip mall Chinese restaurant!

Terrible. The wonton soup smelled like dog. Literally. Even my 6 year old son plugged his nose. The other food was only marginal, mega mall food court worthy at best.

The only good, real tasting Chinese dishes were the soups. And instead of real wontons as appetizers, they give you crispy chow mein noodles that are pretty much like the ones in tinned cans you can find at a SUPERMARKET (along with a ketchup-like sauce :/).
