Food is good and choices are great, but service is so slow it takes it all away
We love Cafe Elysa. So what if they are understaffed once in awhile; they are fabulous usually and well worth it. It is a friendly little place with great food, fabulous pastries and coffee. The outdoor patio is so comfy and has fire pits when it’s fitting weather. We so enjoy stopping in there for a sandwich or omelet and taking some pastries home with us. We’ve never been unhappy there with the service or the food. We Will be back soon. 🙂
The cafe was totally understaffed and the line was long. The cook (who was eating breakfast when we got there) didn’t make any effort to help when the place got busy.
Cafe Elysa-Awesome. Being from Portland, OR; I love the laid back feeling and the friendly staff. Awesome coffee and homemade pastries. We even had breakfast there that out weighed all other restaurants around. Too bad other visitors didn’t chill and appreciate the warmth and outstanding service. Looking forward to our visit next year. Thank you.
Great food. My wife and i got a Groupon deal and visit the place for breakfast and the food was awesome, the service is great too !
Chill beach town breakfast place. Food was as expecte, good. They lost our order and we ended up waiting almost an hour for eggs. Not a huge fan of the self service style, as it always results in taking way too long to get food. Like every breakfast spot in Carlsbad, very busy on a sunny Saturday morning. Not worth the wait, also the waitress made it seem like a non-issue. Pissed me off.
Great hang anytime of the day. New great breakfast menu. Just off the beach on Carlsbad Blvd. Outdoor cafe with firepits, great atmosphere, live music of an evening, and great cafe menu of paninis, croissants, and great range of coffee, teas and chai. A must for locals and visitors.
