That vanilla chai latte, though…. After my boyfriend started work in Carlsbad a couple months ago, Cafe Elysa got me so hooked on their Tahitian Vanilla Chai Latte that I’ve returned at least once a week for it. So hooked, I can’t bring my coffee-loving self to get any other drink; seriously, it’s *the* drink you need to get from here. They offer soy and almond as non-dairy milk options, which is personally a bonus.Chai feelings aside: Service is super friendly (and they have some of the cutest baristas ever) though not particularly fast or attentive; it doesn’t seem like they provide table service to sit-down customers getting food, but I’ve never ordered it myself. I once brought my boyfriend a croissant sandwich to-go and it was ready in a reasonable amount of time, and he raved about its tastiness and generous portion.Overall, this is my favorite place in Carlsbad to get a delicious drink and hang out on their patio, enjoy the ocean breeze and do some people-watching. Good vibes, all around.
