  Looking for lunch in Carlsbad? If a reasonably quick, casual, and tasty meal is all you need, let me introduce you to Senor Grubbys. Its a simple restaurant with a casual vibe and above average food for dining satisfaction.Senor Grubbys has a colorful interior, a patio for outdoor dining, and a self- order policy. You walk to the counter to place your order, than wait for it to be prepared. That makes it a little slower than fast food, but only by a matter of minutes. Within about 5 to 10 minutes of ordering, your food should be ready. This restaurant specializes in burritos and seafood options, most all of which focus on a Mexican inspired theme. The tortillas used to make the burritos are prepared fresh and the burritos are large and satisfying. I ordered the cheesesteak burrito when I visited and found it quite good, not to mention larger than expected. It was made with sirloin, bell peppers, onions, and cheese. I didnt have to request to have them hold the mushrooms- it didnt have any. It was cheesy and really hit the spot. For beverages, Senor Grubbys has you covered with assorted soft drinks, beer, or wine. Its always cool when you visit a restaurant that isnt a sit- down, full service place and discover that they serve a large variety of beer. The beer includes a few rotating options so there is always something new to try. The selection isnt huge, but it is much better than expected for this type of restaurant. Senor Grubbys serves breakfast as well as lunch/ dinner and many other reviews I have read give high marks to the breakfast burritos and omelettes. I have only had the lunch, but if my experience is any indication, I would bet that the breakfast is equally good.
