First bad experience after many good ones.. This Friday had a 15 minute or so wait for our booth for breakfast, no problem,given a window booth by a typical nice friendly Swamis server. She took our order, got our coffee and we settled back to wait, and wait, and more waiting. Finally after 1:10 minutes the server came over and said the order did not get ordered as there was no tape. My wife asked how quick could they get it out and she said, maybe in 15 minutes or more because there others orders ahead of ours at this time. We said that was totally unacceptable and she said, sorry. When I asked for my check she said if she could get it OK’d she would comp us for our coffees. We left with a very bad impression and bad taste in our mouth about the lack of customer service. There are way too many great restaurants on the North County Coast. Needless to say we won’t be telling our friends in NC about how great Swamis is or used to be but rather to steer clear until changes are made
Was not impressed with the service or the food. The place was packed, the food being served looked great, but when we tasted ours it was bland and nondescript. It was a ‘no return’ for us.

Along with ‘ Hill Street Cafe ‘ , also on Coast Highway . We add another Excellent , Healthy Cuisine , restaurant to Oceanside/Carlsbad’s ‘ Beach Town’s !
I was excited when Swami’s opened in Carlsbad because I live just a couple of miles down the coast and I’ve always loved the Encinitas location. However, I’ve gone there about 4-5 times since they opened and every single time, something was either wrong with my order, forgotten or cooked improperly. The worst item I’ve received was a peanut butter smoothie that was room temperature and tasted like straight peanut butter with a splash of milk. I never send food back, but I couldn’t drink it. They took it back made a better smoothie for me the second time. Seems like maybe the employees just haven’t been trained properly. Hopefully the bugs will eventually get worked out, but for now, I drive right past it to eat at the Encinitas location.
Brutal. They seem to keep their phone off the hook so they don’t have to take requests for take out. Swami salad is total disappointment. Veggies are not fresh. Total waste. Gives a bad name to swamis in Encinitas.
A Gradual Disappointment. I work nearby and was pleased when Swamis opened a restaurant on Carlsbad Blvd. I was pleased with the food and service when it first opened, however, the last few times I have visited, Swamis has been a disappointment. My last visit was at lunch on July 25. It featured a waitress who forgot our order and our silverware. I showed her my moldy bread…she brought it back to the kitchen…with no proactive measures/response. When I left the restaurant, she was in the parking lot talking on her cell phone.
