Ordered a French Dip. I assumed a French dip would be on French Bread. Nope. Also why would you put Mayonaise on a French dip sandwich? Nasty. The meat was lower quality. The fries were over salted. The waitress service is often very slow and inattentive. If you are in a hurry you need to sit at the Bar to get any rapid service. I have tried many times to eat here. From now on I will only eat here if I am starving and in a hurry. Also the interior has a little but of a Deny’s vinyl feel. The location is pretty though.
What’s the bUZZ on The Landings?. Finding the location of the restaurant wasn’t too bad. Can’t really miss it, considering it’s attached to the Palomar Airport. Just follow the planes.Luckily, they updated their parking situation and patrons can use the lot to the right of the restaurant or down in front. There is a large patio overlooking the runway. Walking up to the place, I couldn’t imagine anyone wanting to sit out there, considering there was a plane running just about 50 feet away. I couldn’t hear myself think.Once inside, the sound was nicely muted. Windows surrounded the building so each patron could see the action outside on the runway. It was actually pretty cool to be that close to these flying machines. I’m telling you this, if there were more signs or promoting or ANYTHING for this place, it would be much more popular for us North County folks to come and have a date or girls night or happy hour or lunch. There is always something to talk about with all the action going on around you. There are some great specials around happy hour time. $2 domestic draft and tons of appetizers ranging in price from $5 to $8.We had ordered our first round of the Ahi Tuna Stack. Yes, I said first round. That item was ordered 3 times by us lovely ladies. The stack consisted of three layers of ahi separated by a crunchy wafer. A tad messy, but divine! The seaweed salad that accompanied it was equally as scrumptious. We needed have more options, so we ordered the mussels, spinach salad, and the duo sliders. The mussels were a delicious addition; soaked in a flavorful broth much like what I’ve tasted at The Fish Market. Pass on the duo sliders. They were just ok. A little dry to my taste. I think I would have rather tried the peanut butter burger and see what that is all about. Overall, it was a nice experience at The Landings. I have heard that the lunch hour gets pretty busy because of the business park on Faraday, so be aware of that. You must not forget about the happy hour specials as well.
This vegetarian loved it! The spinach salad is perfection. I paired it with the avocado rolls for a wonderful blend of flavors. Happy I tried this restaurant out. Real noisy on a Friday night. Enjoyed the music tho.
Ugh. Yes, ugh.
Food good loved patio. But still prefer old place singer nice touch. The service was terrible waited over one hour for food. Will need to get a more friendly and competent staff to make it. Will try it again but not ready to bring guest. Hope you improve service as location is great.
Slow service and $100 burger. Glad we weren’t in a rush. Took 30 minutes from order to the food being ready. I looked at the menu and decided to try the $100 burger.. Sounded good with 1000 island dressing. What came out was what akin to a generic Costco style patty, couple bits lettuce, couple onion rings and.what can only be described as a squirt of generic thousand island sauce. Really not that appealing to look at. I guess I shouldn’t expect much from the airport restaurant but the delay in getting the food out didn’t add to the experience.
Food is just ok, not great. Breakfast was just ok. & lunch was the same. They try yo make the place more upscale, but food is more low scale.
