Easy to like this. I read some negative reviews that I can’t agree with. Haven’t been here in a while, just so many choice…but if you want a casual, friendly and comfort food Italian experience…this is it. We were here twice this week, generous but excellent portions, awesome service, and I felt reasonable prices, moved is place up in our local rankings. Hey, it’s not five star gourmet…but a family meal experience worth the visit.
This was the worst dinner ever. The waitress was snobby and the food especially the amb chops were fatty and our friends were charged the full meal even though they returned their meal. I will never come back to this place.
Had a fabulous linguine alla luciana! We are out of towners and were treated very well. House Cab was good, fresh bread, excellent salsad, dynamite cannolli and tiramisu. The restaurant nailed, everything spot on.
Gnocchi is delicious
Not a very welcoming place for visitors. We noticed that they treated their regulars like gold as they should, but we felt completely out of place. The calamari was tough and not tasty at all. The gaslamp was not turned on until we reqested for it, we were freezing and no one offered to turn it on. The servers appeared unhappy and in no mood to socialize. We didn’t have a reservation so thus received the coldest, smallest table in the place.
What is Happening?. Seems like their spirit is broken & there is a negative air about the place!Used to be kind of an upbeat place but lately it is a downer. Sorry, but even the portions seemed smaller as if they are definitely cutting back. There seems to be an air of discouragement & even crisis. The food apparently was left standing a while because it was not hot as normally expected & waiters seemed rather distracted. With so many new places in Carlsbad competeting for my dollar I’ll avoid this one for now.
