Maybe it was a bad night. I will preface this review with a general observation – the craft brand has been generally hit or miss for me. I have had an outstanding meal and an inexcusable meal in the same craft (Foxwoods Casino, CT), within the span of two months. Perhaps my experience with the LA incarnation was a one-off that is not indicative of the establishment as a whole. I’m not going to beat it up, because the service at the bar was excellent. The hush puppies were burnt. Not well done, not extra crispy – burnt. Black. I’m not sure what’s worse – how they were cooked, or that it was served to me that way. The BBQ duck leg was not much better. It had an odd, overcooked texture, and the skin was reminiscent of chewing a rubber band. Like I said, I’d like to give the benefit of the doubt.
Amazing. I was super excited to try Craft. I had read the reviews and they were all over the board and one thing I have realized from reding reviews is if there a lot of bad reviews avoid, a lot of mixed reviews are a must try. Glad we did, it was one of the top 5 meals of my life! I was worried being in LA the staff would be snobby. They were beyond amazing and friendly. The food was to die for and a ton of it. I could see if you just ordered one entree how you could be hungry but that isn’t how this menu is set up. Enjoy the courses and try new things. I liked it so much I took clients back the next night and it was just as good. It is a great place for special occasions or just for a relaxing meal with friends and loved ones. LOVED everything about this restaurant!
Dining Extraordinaire!. This is dining at it’s finest! Unlike any I’ve ever been to!From the servers, to the food, even the chairs are a unexpected comfort! I’ll not describe to much, as to not ruin the cleaver and unassuming adventure you’ll await. Extremly delightful and unpredictable food. Served in a unique and profound way. Noting left over on this table. Go with an adventurest attitude and plan on relaxing…not a place to hurry through.
Be still my heart!!. Oh my goodness. Short ribs are amazing. Side dishes are amazing. The atmosphere isn’t my favorite but I can deal. I hear the salmon is good but I don’t eat fish. The service is spot on. The desserts are 50/50. They made a huge deal one time about the pumpkin pie so all three of us were going to get it. They only had two left, so in true Craft style, they brought us a fourth dessert as a surprise at no charge. Very classy. Turned out the pumpkin pie was terrible, the third dessert that we ordered was meh, and the fourth which was the surprise and not ordered by any of us was so amazing. Funny how that worked out. If you go here, you may see some celebrities. The hostess told us that they really come during lunch so we came back to lunch but didn’t see any. Bummer. I just moved here from Florida, so I’m still in that star struck phase. Saw Hallie Berry and Sean Penn while eating dinner here. That was pretty awesome.
Loved it!. My wife and I celebrated our 13th anniversary at Craft and could not have picked a better place. The service was exceptional and the food was decadent. The duck was not featured on the menu but the chef had some available and I was very grateful to have it. The staff were all very pleasant and made us feel very welcomed. I would recomend Craft to everyone! We LOVED it!
Hearty American cuisine. Refreshing cocktails. Delicious desserts. Overall experience, did not meet my expectations.
Overpriced nice dishes. Super small servings though. If you go, consider ordering a sandwich or burger so you won’t be left hungry and unsatisfied. That said the quail is delicious. Pork and steak are mediocre. Desserts not that exciting.
