Went for a light dinner on a Tuesday evening. The place was packed to the rafters with an eclectic crowd. We were lucky to get a table for two. We ordered the shrimp suimai, Kobe beef with eggplant, and for sushi we ordered a selection of tuna, salmon and snow crab sushi. Washed it down with Asahi amber Japanese beer. While the portions were not great, the quality of food was fairly good. As it is a compact restaurant, you are jostling for space but once you settle down, it gets to be a lot of fun because of the vibe. The service was slow, but then, they did have a full house. Overall a wonderful experience.
Read all the reviews…good/bad and now so happy I didn’t listen to any of the negative ones. No reservation but arrived at 8:15pm on a Thursday night. Got a spot for two at the sushi bar immediately. Lucky I didn’t want to sit at a table! A little wait. These sushi chefs are true masters and have fun personalities. What an interesting menu and the produce is so fresh and colourful! Had edamame, sashimi, and assorted sushi. So delicious and heavenly. After watching the masters making such great dishes for other customers as the Blue Fin Tuna with Spinach salad and amazing looking oysters with different sauces I realised I will be coming back to try some new delicacies. Maybe tomorrow! PS. Service was spot on and fast! PSS. Sit at the sushi bar to get an education!
The sushi here is really good by pretty expensive. My favorite thing here that won’t break the bank is the chirashi lunch bowl. I also tried the fois gras and it was bomb.
This place was great. We are visiting from australia and were so impressed with the service and food. Recommend the seared tuna.
Lunch Special. It’s really good but quite pricey. I only go for lunch where they have a lunch special menu. You have to request it though because they don’t initially bring it to you.
Order: Robert roll, rock shrimp tempura
