I’ve been going to Serenata ever since I remember, and to this day it’s still my favorite Mexican restaurant. I strongly recommend the mushroom quesadillas, but you really can’t go wrong with anything on this menu.

GREATEST MEXICAN FOOD IN L.A.!. I rate this the best mexican restaurant in food, service and cleanliness. From appetizers (panuchos), dishes (rib eye ala martin and camarones yucatan), desserts by marco (chocolate banana bread pudding) to the services starting with Marta at the door. I love their sauces…they are the most unusual and flavorful I’ve ever had. I keep going back be cause they are consistently great.

Excellent Mid-Scale Mexican. Not really low-end traditional California-Mexican fare and yet not too upscale, La Serenata seems to hit the right middle ground of excellent, authentic mexican fare. The salsa served with chips is unique and tasty, appetizers are generally good (don’t expect a quesadilla that looks like the one from Taco Bell) and the mains are very tasty. While plates like the Carne Asada have disappointed favorites like the Tortilla Soup, Salmon Enchilladas, and Half Chicken (served boneless) have made up the difference. Reasonable prices, decor, and service make this a favorite lunch spot.
