No thanks, We’ll spend elsewhere.. Served with a haughty attitude, the food is okay. Asked for a mocha and 20 minutes later, ask the waitress about it and she says it’s coming..It was cool when I received it in a paper cup, while the other table around me had theirs in green porcelin mugs I watched her visiting with the other waitress and goofing off. There was 1 other table of 4 people in the place. 45 minutes after ordering, our meal was delivered. I’d asked for the eggs to be cooked hard, and was willing to wait. The eggs were runny. When mentioning to the owner, he said some lame thing about servers only getting min wage and defended her snotty attitude. Oh, okay. Eric, you do not deserve our money. No, I can find better service and eggs at Denny’s(yuck!) I bet even IHOP (yucky too!) could out-do you in service. Keep the hippy dippy stoner mentality. I’ll keep my money and eat at Sin or see you at the Morning Thunder (where we’ve seen you eating!)and where customer service is obviously a high priority.

Loved it!. My husband and I’ve been hearing about Cafe Coda from so many friends and acquaintances, we finally hired a babysitter and tood ourselves there for weekend brunch. It was delightful. We had to wait about a half hour for a table, we hit the peak rush hour for brunch on a Sunday. But, it was a nice day and we certainly weren’t alone, so it it was a nice opportunity to people watch on the sidewalk. (No place to sit and wait.) Breakfast was delicious, the perfect combination of a healthy treat. I had French toast with their specialty house-baked break and fresh fruit; my husband had eggs benedict, which were as attractive as they were tasty. The only disappointment I suffered was not getting the coffee drink I ordered. They were out of vanilla syrup and unable to give me my vanilla latte. I substituted another drink, but I did have my heart set on the latte. Maybe I should have ordered champagne instead! The place does serve alcohol and the table next to ours seemed to enjoy their mimosas very much. I hear it’s a fun place in the evenings too when they host art shows and bands (although it seems so small for a band venue). The place is indeed small, hip and off the beaten path. It’s close to downtown but just out of view from the Main Street on Humbolt near Wall Street. Parking wasn’t a problem, even with the crowd.

Cafe Coda is my favorite place to get breakfast in Chico. I’ve never had anything compae to their Nutella French toast. Make sure you are prepared to be there for a while – the food is wonderful but it does take a really long time. No where in Chico offers food comparable to theirs. Not a bad price either, I think the average plate is around $9. Totally worth it.
