Celestino’s has very poor customer service and they don’t need your money. Celestino’s on East Avenue has to worst customer service. One of the shift managers, Alfonzo, does not have respect for the paying customer that support the business. He was very rude and raised his voice to me when I asked him questions regarding payment for our catering order. I told him I am a paying customer and his customer service skills were poor and asked him to treat me and my hundredths of dollars with respect. He swear at me (you can guess what he said). I let him know that this last time I will ever visit their business again. He told he didn’t need my money.. So if you are reading this review, remember that Alfonzo on the behalf of the company he represents, Celestino’s, doesn’t need your money… I will never give another penny to this company. And, there food is extremely average so it is not big lose for me. I just want to warn others before they spend hundredths of dollars and get treated like garbage.
New York style, what can be better?. Get the best of New York style pizza on the west side in Chico, Celestino’s is #1 in quality pizza, plus the slices are HUGE! One slice is a meal in itself, even for the biggest pizza fiends 😀
Worthy of the reviews. As a pizza lover and frequent traveler, I’ve tried many styles o’ pie around the world, including several areas of New York. As far as NY-style pizza goes, I’ll second the review below- it’s the closest you’ll probably get in California. I had the olive special, and I’ll admit it was pretty tasty. The crust was cooked well, and there were plenty of toppings without being overwhelming. I would have asked for a little more cheese, but that’s a typical thing everywhere for me.The location itself is nothing special and didn’t feel particularly inviting, though there were a couple of outdoor tables that looked decent. (I took my pie back to the hotel to eat.) The gal up front was nice enough but charged me for a large when the box and my order clearly stated a medium.

New York, New York. Where, oh, where can a person get a decent pizza in this town? After moving here from the East Coast nearly 10 years ago, I found the one thing that is generally NOT better in California is the pizza. That said, Celestinos is the closest we could find to real New York pizza and it’s practically the only one we eat here. We also enjoy their sandwiches: eggplant parm, chicken parm, meatball sub (the meatballs are a bit too spicy for my kids, but my husband loves them).Mangia!
