They have good food, but if you have to leave in a hurry you either leave without a refund and get belittled by the younger female manager who twists your appetite around and you have a mini PTSD attack, or take your food. I needed to leave & cancel my food order but when I tried the chefs refused to cancel my order making me wait another 15 minutes. The manager made me feel like I was in the wrong. So I’d say the foods great but every now and then the costumer service is shot & horrible. And yes they do put things on your food when you ask for them not to put it on. And to top it off when I got home and ate my cold burger it was the wrong burger….

Overrated. I have been to just about every burger joint in town, and madison bear has some bad fatty tasting burger patties. I know its an original & traditional chico spot to hang out and have fun with friends,and the atmosphere is one of a kind. wether u like to party big, or just relax and hang out. but were talking about the food. So i suggest better places with better burgers & better quality you can taste. downtown has bellas,banshees, burgers & brew, and panamas with 31 diffrent type of burgers. and thats not including all the other places like nobbys, chico big burger, burger hut, cj’s, dog house and etc…only place with worser burgers is the graduate, not good. but check them out yourself, and let chico know what u think.
Recalling old times. I just like to sit and hang out there. It reminds me of my old times in school when we had to fake IDs to get in.
Title. Such a cool spot. the old antiques and decorations give the place a really funky vibe. they have great burgers and an outdoor patio in the back when it’s nice out.
Yummy burgers, decent sandwiches, alright salads. Great place to hang out during class breaks, watch a sports game or meet up with friends.
Try it during school breaks…. Fresh and good salads – not that bagged tasting lettuce chain restaurants try to pass off to you. The best thing on the menu is the hawaiian style burger! Yum! Yum! Large burger with some grease, a grilled pineapple and cheese. Juicy and delicious. This is a college hot spot but I go during school breaks and I really like the food. It is order at the counter and find a seat in a gigantic old building filled with some really interesting things and photos. A Chico staple. Kids love it too!
