Disappointed. I went to Mom’s in December 2010 and liked it. The chicken fried steak was great with a nice thick gravy and I enjoyed it. Then I went in 2012 and got the same thing, chicken fried steak. This time the gravy was thin and runny, not like I remembered. Then when I took a bite I was sort of disgusted. It tasted like maple. The entire time I was eating it all I could taste was maple. I probably won’t go back. I don’t like the inconsistency. There’s better places to go for breakfast in Chico.
To be honest, I have yet to enjoy a dish I’ve had there. A lot of people I know like it though.
Went for brunch. Food overall was very good although the potatoes were not completely done. And although the food was good and brought out promptly, the service was poor. Had to repeatedly ask for soda, and coffee refills.
Moms has amazing breakfast options. I love their potatoes! Anything you order off this menu will be good. I’ve tried a few kinds of breakfast options I’ve never had before and loved them all!
Benedicts FTW. I love this breakfast place. First of all Mom’s has the largest breakfast menu in Chico. There is guaranteed to be something for everyone here. Also on of the only places I can think of with crepes. I love the Chicken fried steak which I did not order but my friend did and tried some it was so good I will definitely get that next time, but I usual go for the benedicts there are a few different kinds on the menu. The Florentine which is a little on the healthier side with spinach and tomato. I think they have like 5 different kind. Which is great news for me, because benedicts are my favorite thing to order. There is one with chicken apple sausage which I have not tried yet, but how could you go wrong with that. The potatoes on the side of the breakfast are my favorite in Chico. The fresh squeezed OJ also gives moms some bonus points in my book. Like I said Mom’s has a large enough menu to fit any group of people there are a ton of unique items on there menu. I would give it a try!
Freshly squeezed orange juice is always a good sign… then our breakfaces arrived… Yes! A great new breakfast spot! Generous servings(!!) Don’t forget to bring a picture of your mom…. Because part of its charm comes from the cute pics of moms displayed throughout from knowing patrons!
Absolutely the best food. Tasted exactly like mom used to make when i was growing up.
