I understand this place has been here forever but come on, thats more of a reason to update the food quality or lower the prices. I would say this is fancy diner with special things like tongue and tomatoes. The lunch special entree prices range from 12-19 dollars. The hamburgers and sandwich are a lot cheaper but why would you want a burger from this place. The good thing is theres a full barTheres tons of space for small and large parties. It was one of those places I was like crap what do I order.???I kept lookin at Yelp picture and everything just looked super mehhhhh and not appetizing.I ended up ordering the meatloaf. Ya I know weird It was ok, like I left half lol.I feel this place is more of a regulars and locals only spot. When we walked in everyone turned around to see who we were lolIt was interesting.

Terrible experience, too bad.. When in today for the first time with it to friends, I have never been so poorly treated in a restaurant and to top it off by the manager/owner. She literally told me that I could leave and it was all because I requested to have the sourdough bread to be warm. I would’ve left but I was there to gather information for an article I’m writing.I personally will never go back. Review of the food: we started with the Lukiuka & Noodles homemade basque sausage over a bed of garlic noodles, The home a sausage was very very good the noodles were cut into bite size ( a no no) and a little overcooked but the flavor was good. We order the soup they told us the soup of the day was the Manhattan clam chowder that’s what they called it nothing like Manhattan clam chowder but again good flavor. I ordered the Veal Pot Rost and they were out tge time was 12:15pm the restaurant opens at 11am. I order the Lamb Roast thinthly sliced not much of the natural juice but replace it with a gravy, very homey just like the rest of the entries Talapia and Meatloaf ( very salty). I was trying to order from their daily specials. Dessert, Gateau Basque it was nice but I should’ve been thought out totally we had some areas they still tasted a little frozen. This is a restaurant I would’ve loved to have been able to visit over and over to a friends and family big crowd but with such a pompous of a owner I would never set foot in it again.

NOT A FRENCH RESTAURANT. I am French, born and raised in France. I went to Centro Basco 3 times in 2 years. Believe me. This is NO French restaurant. If you ever had real French food before, you’ll know what I mean. I will never eat there again. The staff is friendly, though. But if you go there to enjoy French food, you’ll be disappointed.

Fine Basque as you may never have had or have elsewhere!. Dining at Centro is very much like a European boarding house. I have been eating at this place off and on for forty years. On the weekends there is a prix fixe dinner in the old boarding house dining room-reservations needed and you are collectively called to dinner by the ringing of a cow bell. This option is a much recommended way to dine, as well as a way to meet interesting dining companions that you will share your meal with on long communal dining tables. In the main dining room you will choose your entree which will be served as the last of a five course meal. Your table will begin with a shared tureen of homemade soup with wonderful sheepherder’s bread and cheese, then a simple, but wonderful salad, then a plate of thinly sliced tongue and tomatoes with a garlicky marinade, then a spaghetti Bolognese with parmesan and then your chosen main dish served in the Basque style with pomme frits and peas. I highly recommend the lamb chops, the roasted chicken or the good marbled steak. Pretentious? Not in the least. You feel like you are in another, much more casual, culturally different world. Spendy? No, a fine value that you do pay some for. It is worth seeking this place out; there are few if any Basque restaurants left in the west and none as good!

Best Basque Food!!!!. Simply the best Basque food in the area. This place has been around for as long as I can remember. Decent prices and good food. I think my favorite is the meatloaf. The pickled tongue is a must of course.
