Grabbed lunch at Wahoo’s. We don’t have this chain back east and I always take the opportunity to eat at one whenever I am in Kalifornia (yes – I spelled it that way on purpose). I had two citrus slaw tacos with blackened fish, black beans, and brown rice. The tacos were piled high with fresh slaw which was very tasty. The citrusy and slightly sweet slaw balanced the spiciness of the blackened fish very well. The best part is that the slaw was loaded with cilantro – my favorite herb! The fish was well-seasoned and had a little kick, but not to the point of overpowering the rest of the ingredients on the taco. The black beans were flavorful and complimented the fish tacos nicely. The brown rice was prepared just right – not under or overdone. As an added bonus, the workers stopped by every 5 minutes or so just to make sure things were still OK and to see if I needed anything. For a fast food restaurant, this is going above and beyond the call of duty. Call it bias because we don’t have anything comparable in TN, but I really like Wahoo’s and will be back whenever I have the chance.
