Awesome. Got the lamb and the quail and some enchiladas. All were top quality and the prices were great. Try the Mexican microbrews with the food, well worth it.

Words cannot describe how good the food is here. Hands down best tacos in San Diego. Also, if things couldn’t be better, the staff is very friendly and warm. You will not be dissapointed if you spent your lunch here.

Slow roasted lamb nirvana floating on a corn tortilla pillow. Get in your car and drive to Chula Vista as soon as you can- open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. I went this afternoon at 4:00 p.m. and had to wait a half hour for a table. They were out of Pancita, but I did sample Barbacoa de Borrego by the kilo, also Borrego tacos- Maciza, Costilla and Cabeza. We also had unbelievable Flautas- crisopy deep fried paper thin corn tortillas rolled around juicy succulent- Barbacoa and Papa. A very good Quesadilla Flor de Calabaza. Next time I sample the Quesadilla Huitlacoche. The Consome was awesome, made with dried garbonzo. Paco took the time to carefully explain that the Barbacoa is roasted wrapped Maguey- he brought a huge cactus segment to the table to show me how it was used. Very friendly and so passionate about his food. His dad owns a taco stand in TJ, since 1990. He’s been open in CV three months. When you go, and you definitely should if you’re into authentic ethnic cuisine, be sure to try the Guacamole y Nopales salad. They also have a Cabeza Completa (whole head) for 13.50 which I wanted to sample and rationalize that I was already too full having sampled most of the menu, but perhaps was afraid to look it in the eye. Very small and unpretentious restaurant, scrupulously clean, prices that are very reasonable. Big on quality and amazing flavors. Perhaps not as upscale inside as El Borrego on El Cajon Blvd., but the food might have a slight edge. I’m anxious for dedicated foodies to check it out and let me know. http://aquiestexcoco.com/
