The owner is not a nice person. If you have kids you will be sat in the back corner. Good luck with service and if you have any problems she will tell you to go some place else. Tables are so close together you can’t pull out a chair to be seated. None working dogs are allowed in and are so close to the next table the dog smell invades our eating space. Bad service all around. So sad, it could be a great place, needs new manager.

This place looked to have so much promise, scenery was gorgeous and music was ok, that’s where is all went to crap! Got to the place and found a line to be seated, put our name on a list and was told it was a 25 minute wait for patio seating, which was fine because the patio was pooch friendly and we had our little Pomeranian Anna with us. After a half hour wait we inquired as to our place on the list as all other patrons including those who arrived after we did had already been seated. We were told 15 more minutes. Finally one hour after arriving and 25 minutes waiting after everyone else had been seated we were shown to our table. Our server was friendly enough and asked to take a drink order; we informed we were ready to order, as we had ample time to review the menu during our hour wait to be seated. We ordered and this is where it got even worse. A family was seated adjacent to us about 10 minutes after we ordered. Thirty minutes had gone by and our server came back and told us she was going to check on our order, she never returned. However much to our dismay and surprise the order belonging to the couple sitting next to us who had arrived long after us was served to them!It was at this point I went looking for our server, I found here shooting the breeze with her co-workers at the check-in table. The band music was quite loud so I had to speak louder than normal, but inquire about the fact that she never returned to inform us of the status of our meal. Very rudely she told me the kitchen was backed up and that is the reason for the dely. I inquired as to why the order for the family that arrived after us was already been served to them. Again she told me the kitchen was backed up. I asked to speak to the manager. The head- server came out and told me that I was free to leave if I did not like the fact that the order was delayed and did not offer any type of apology for the delay. She told me the manager did not want to speak to me. I was flabbergasted and returned to my table not sure what to do or how to take the lack of courtesy to a paying customer. An elderly looking lady approached our table and began informing us of another establishment down the road that had Better Food, Free Music and was a bit less expensive. I thought she was a patron offering advice. She then informed me she was the OWNER, I was beside myself. This lady informed me they did not tolerate any abuse to their servers! I informed her inquiring why our food was delayed 45 minutes and why those who were arrived after us were served first hardly constitutes abuse. She then said I was loud. I informed her I was a 100 percent disabled Service Connected Veteran of the United States Military who was a bit hard of hearing due to Serving this country, not to mention the loud live music made conversing difficult. I cannot believe the way my family was treated! Sure I am a bid darker skinned than the 99 percent Caucasian patrons but in this America this should not matter. I put my life on the line and served this County so this Lady can have the opportunity to run a successful business and reap the benefits. She acted as if she did not need my kind around as she had plenty of business from other kinds of patrons! Needless to say I will not be back and will advise friends, family and others to stay away as well.

Ugh! I look forward to fish and chips from the Galley every lent. Worst I’ve ever had. Fish was grey flavorless and mushy. Same great batter! Suggestion…raise your price and use quality fish. Hope the Galley reads this. Will return…hope it improves.

Will not returm. Nice setting. Good waitress. Greasy, tasteless fish of Fish & Chips special. All greasy batter with soggy doughy inside. Salads mediocre.

Best fish n chips in the southbay San Diego area. Also try the grilled portabella and blue cheese sandwich on marbeled rye off the hook!

Excellent View, Music and Food. This place is a hidden little gem. The menu is very extensive and the food was delicious. Very fresh seafood, prepared and served very nicely. The staff was pretty nice, cute young ladies that seemed to know many of the people in the restaurant. It seemed as if this is a great local hang out. It is so hard to find a fun place that has live music with good seating yet they have a great view and it’s on an outdoor deck with a nice breeze. I am going back to get another fun dose. Might try their happy hour.

Great Place To Go For A Casual Lunch. Overlooking the Chula Vista Marina in San Diego County, The Galley At The Marina has been serving up seafood and live music for the last 16 years. This was a last minute lunch date on the Fourth of July and my dear friend Semo, who had been out of town (Arizona) for almost a week, called to see if I was still in town (San Diego) and if I wanted to meet for brunch or lunch. Semo wanted to have lunch by the beach so I suggested the Chula Vista Marina since I had to pay a quick visit to my parents following our lunch. We ended up at the Galley for a late lunch. After studying the menu, we decided on the Jalapeno Poppers as a starter. For some reason, that sounded good to me–cheese stuffed jalapeno peppers, breaded and deep fried to a golden brown and served with ranch dressing on the side. It was pretty good. There were so many choices for lunch–salads, sandwiches, pasta, seafood items…after studying the menu, Semo and I knew immediately what we wanted to order. Semo order the Blackened Ahi Sashimi, fresh blackened ahi sliced and arranged artfully over a bed of lettuce. I ordered the Steamed Clams and Mussels. Just the description alone of the dish sold me: a one pound bowl of clams and mussels steamed in wine, olive oil and garlic, served with garlic cheese bread for dipping in that wonderful broth. And I was trying to limit my intake of bread to zero. Oh well, that went out the window AND there wasn’t enough bread for me to mop up the broth–there was so much of it! Heaven! We of course saved the best for last–DESSERT! And Semo already has his eye on a dessert that had passed our table earlier…the Hula Pie! The hula pie was vanilla ice cream with a generous sprinkling of macademia nuts, sitting atop a chocolate graham cracker cookie crust, drizzled with lots of chocolate syrup and topped with loads of whipped cream. It was so good!Galley at the Marina is a great place to go with family and friends to enjoy a casual, comfortable meal and is a favorite with the locals. Comfort seafood at its best–and you can get any better than this!
