While I found the food to be decent I dont understand why the place is so busy. The service is very slow and it seems like the front of the house workers are bored with their jobs. The food is plentiful but lacks a good flavor profile, and tends to be boring. The Carne Asada Fries were not that great, and the meat quality was apparent. The signage for this store is so confusing if you have never been here before, as the main street sign is not near the actual location itself. I would pass on this location should I be in the area again.

Standing in a long line, I finally get to the order counter – then friends of the kid behind the counter come in and he starts bantering with them in Spanish and then takes their order – there must be 10 people behind me in line – this happened about three years ago – and I have never returned – I was a loyal customer for at least 10 years and ate lunch there at least two or three times a week – I also have told everyone I know in local business – At $20 to $30 a week they have lost just from me – you do the math.
Lolitas WAS the best taco shop. But I think they’ve changed management this year. Carne asada tough and too salty. Pork greasy and too salty.
I’ve been eating at Lolitas since it first opened in the 80’s and now my kids are hooked too! Carne asada nachos are enough for my hubby and I to share.
Thank HAY-SEUS for Carne Asada. I was having serious withdrawals living on the east coast without a trip home since the top of 2006. Never frequented Lolita’s back in the day, but I can say that this place is pretty damn good. LOVE IT. I wish I could go there now.
This has to be one of the cleaniest shop I’ve ever seen. Staff is constantly cleaning. This is homemade Mexican food. Portions were generous, but lacked seasoning. Had to go to the bar for sauces & limes to up the flavor factor. Taco was loaded with lettuce & cheese – took awhile to get to the goods. I’ll give it one more try but competiton is fierce in this neighborhood. Directly across from Bonita Golf course.
