WE DISAGREE WITH EVERYONE ELSE’S REVIEW!. My husband and I enjoy trying out different Chinese food joints… So we were curious to try the lunch special after passing by this place for many months now. Yesterday, we were in the mood for Chinese, so we ventured over to Panda Imperial. We walked in and were told to choose our own table. We went over very hungry and anxious to try the food. The waitress was acceptable and gave us some of those traditional asian chips with sweet sauce which was actually pretty good although the chips were a little on the burnt side. We got our drinks and not much of a complaint there. After a good 5 minutes or so we received our meals off the lunch special. I ordered the almond chicken and my husband ordered the beef and broccoli. Each of our lunch specials came with fried rice, one eggroll and soup. The egg soup was pretty interesting in flavor but edible nonetheless. The eggroll was alright but we had to dip it in the leftover sweet sauce to give it more flavor. My almond chicken was pretty disgusting. I traded with my husband since he has more of a tolerance for unique flavors. However, once he bit into the chicken he noticed that it was rubbery. He took another piece and examined it. It was indeed, barely cooked enough to eat. We also noticed that most the pieces in it were attached to large pieces of chicken skin. The beef with the broccoli was no better. It also had the consistency of chicken skin, very mushy and rubbery. The broccoli was too hard and not fully steam cooked. The fried rice was so fried, it burnt and they still managed to serve it to us like that without egg and veggies either. We tried to not let this totally ruin our appetite so we did our best in trying to salvage the meal by adding a lot of soy sauce onto the rice and mixing it with the almonds and broccoli. Finally, we gave up. We’ve had enough. We walked up to the register with plates still mounted with food on our table. We were VERY unsatisfied. The cashier didn’t acknowledge our presence and spoke Chinese to our waitress. We just wanted to pay and get out of there already. We were given fortune cookies upon our departure as well and needless to say, those too, were just as bad as our meal experience there. Thanks a lot Panda Imperial, we now know NEVER to go visit you again. We rate this place -5 stars.

We love it here!. We are one of the countless fans of Panda Imperial in San Diego and I can say that the food here is so much better that what they have in Royal Mandarin. The shrimps are huge! And they make the best (and I mean the BEST) fried chicken wings in San Diego! I also love how they cook their vegetables, which is always cooked and served fresh.. not limpy nor too browned by soy sauce. We also love the service. The ladies there are always polite and friendly.
