We don’t have the pleasure of dining at upscale restaurants too terribly often anymore as our children aren’t quite the fine-dining type, but I’m so glad we’ve given Savoie a few tries on a rare date night! I was quite blown away by literally every aspect of our dinner last time we were there. I had the stuffed sole and the portion was huge and it tasted great, a friend who also ordered it agreed. Drink service was timely and they have a great wine list (try the Treana Viognier blend, my fave!) Service was amazing, our waiter was so attentive and made sure that we were happy with every aspect of our dining experience. Then there’s the ambience and decor, it’s gorgeous in there! From the dining room to the bathroom, the whole place was remodeled very nicely before opening! We will definitely be making this a regular date night venue and also can’t wait to grab some drinks out on the patio on a warm summer night! stylishlysocial.com

This restaurant had a lot of potential but ended up being an expensive letdown! The ambience was great but the fact that the dining area was empty should have been our first clue that looks can be deceiving. While ordering, the waitress informed us that we should avoid the mushroom risotto because the chef can’t seem to get it right, it is either under or overcooked and she said that it always gets returned. We heeded her warning and ordered something else. As we waited for our food we watched the busboys walking around with expressions on there faces that said they would rather be anywhere else and it was hard to get anyone to come to our table to refill our drinks let alone check on us. However, the two young, scantily clad females at the table behind us had no problem getting service. While we sat with empty drink glasses and no food there were 3 male employees (one of which we later found out was the manager) taking cell phone pictures of the girls with no shame. The bread they served was dry and almost powdery in texture and the garlic was weak. After awhile our waitress came and informed us that we were waiting on a steak but that the rest of our food was ready so we said no problem. A few minutes later they brought out the steak and veal that my dining companions had ordered but not the pizza I ordered…the one that was supposedly ready a few minutes ago. Our waitress went to the back to check on my food. When she returned she informed us that the kitchen missed the pizza on our ticket and said they were preparing it now. Then, 15-20 minutes later she delivers a plain mushroom pizza to the table (I had ordered the grilled vegetable and cheese pizza). When I asked her where the eggplant and other veggies were she looked at me like I was crazy and she said it doesn’t come with eggplant because I had ordered a mushroom pizza. I apologized and reminded her that I had actually ordered the veggie pizza. She then looked at our ticket and said that she put the order in wrong. She asked if I would like the mushroom pizza instead. I told her that I would like to try what I ordered. She told me that she would have the chef prepare a new pizza but made me feel bad for returning the mushroom pizza. Then she tried to get us to order more food while we waited…why would I order and pay for more food when you can’t even get a simple pizza right?! So we waited…and waited…and finally the correct order came out and I was hoping it would be worth the wait but I was sadly disappointed. The veggies were undercooked so there were basically raw carrots on top of my pizza and there was a sliver of bone mixed in as well (how does a piece of bone end up in a veggie pizza?!). My dining companions, being the gentlemen that they are had waited to eat with me so their $60 steak and $20something veal plates were beyond cold. When the waitress realized that my uncle had finished the 2lb steak by himself she made a huge deal about it and told all of the other employees. She joked that he should be on man vs food. Luckily my uncle doesn’t embarrass easily! She asked if he would like anything else and he said no thank you. Then she came back with a menu and tried to get him to order something else. He had already told her no but at this point we weren’t surprised that she was trying to get us to spend more money. When it was time to pay the check, the waitress didn’t even offer to compensate for our horrible experience. We spoke to a manager on the way out to inform him of our less than stellar experience and he didn’t seem surprised but still didn’t know how to approach the issue. To sum it up, this place had a lot of potential: good ambience and a decent sounding menu. HOWEVER, it did not live up to our expectations. The food was mediocre and expensive and service sucked! Don’t waste your time or money here!!!
