HIDDEN GORMET GEMThe place has the best French pastries, cakes, panini. Amazing food to look at and eat. Also best breakfast and catering. Ive never been for dinner I hear its fabulous. Great affordable place with gormet food.
Love Arely’s for breakfast, lunch and pastries. I think they have the best almond croissant in San Diego. Cakes are lovely, and reasonably priced. For lunch, our favorite quiche is the spinach. You can also order a whole quiche for a good price.i skip the salads– the dressing taste like it’s from a bottle. I’ve only had dinner once, and wasn’t impressed, but we are regulars for breakfast or lunch. Anything almond is yum, they do a great almond tart topped with seasonal fruit. They aren’t actually French as in from France, but you can find some craveable gems. The coconut cake, muffins (especially the cream cheese muffins), and the chocolate almond croissant are all standouts. They are in the middle of expanding into the storefront next door. Hopefully they will be adding a public bathroom, too! Otherwise a kid-friendly spot. babybirdsfarm.com
A bit of French culture hidden in Clairemont. In addition to tasty pastries and tarts, they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner with a French flair. I ‘m addicted to their cinnamon rolls! Only down side – limited seating. Give it a try!!!
Stale Bread. Had a sandwich and some dessert items. The sandwich was well made but the bread was very stale.. Come on, stale bread at a bakery! The little dessert was very nice. Think of this as a nice little cafe (two outside tables) to stop in for a sweet and coffee. Nothing more
Overpriced. I went here for lunch thinking it was a delicious bakery. It probably is, I didn’t have any pastries. I ordered a salad and soup. Each one was like $6. That better be some good freaking soup for a $6 cup. Nah. The french onion soup was ok. It tasted a little like cardboard, but I could deal. My salad was good, but $6? Really? My husband also got a salad and sandwich, which were each around $6 too. It’s a nice little place, but too expensive for lunch.
