Poor bakery deprived San Diego needs about ten of this place. It isn’t one of those wussy low salt, low sugar, Crisco-based bakeries. Nor is it one of prissy La Jolla bakeries where wealthy moms spend $4 per cookie served up by snots. No, this is the real deal from a culture, Middle Eastern, that truly understands desserts and pastries. I’ve tried eight things here so far and they’ve all been great. It is close to somewhere I frequent, so I’ll be back often.They have a cozy interior with two or three tables. All the staff has been really nice, clearly people who enjoy what they are doing. Though the bakery isn’t visible from Balboa Avenue, I encourage you to make the effort to find it.
