Best lunch. I just stumbled onto this resteraunt, it is beautiful, clean and I had never heard of Mongolian hot pot. I loved it, it’s rich, exotic, and delicious. My new favorite resteraunt.

Overprice and over rated. Went here with 4 friends as one of the group had been for lunch before and loved it. We went on a Tuesday and had no choice but to have their all u can eat buffet, our server would not allow us do anything else. We really felt ripped off as there were 5 of us and no way ate $100 worth of food We order a bunch of items both meat, fish and veg yet we had to wait over 30mins for the meat, despite asking multiple times for our order. When it eventually arrived we only got one of our meat items. The staff were not very helpful and kept telling us the rest of our meat was coming but it never arrived. All in all, I was not impressed, both with the food and the attitude of the staff and won’t be rushing back.

A couple months ago I had the opportunity to try the Little Sheep located in Montreal, so I was excited to find one in San Diego. The set up for this location is different in Montreal – that location allows diners to select the broth, then go up to a buffet and make selections for a flat rate. This location requires that the meats and vegetables be ordered a la carte. The potential problem is that you may want to make a lot of selections (and there are many choices!!) in order to have a good variety – which then adds up to a high bill, especially if there are only two people. We were left with a lot of food that were were way too full to eat. That said, hot pot is a fun experience and it takes awhile, so it’s good for a group or if you have a lot to talk about. We went with the spicy broth, which gets hotter and spicier over time. The flavors are excellent and the garlic cloves also mash up nicely to eat with the vegetables. The supreme lamb and beef are the best meat choices and we also enjoyed the noodles and the taro (just be sure to cook it well). The spinach sounded like a good idea but it was difficult to fish out of the bowl. Be warned that the hot pot dumplings are fish filled – we were expecting pork so it was quite an unpleasant shock. This is a fun place to go, just keep an eye on how much you are ordering so you don’t waste food and money.
