This is my favorite hangout place after work! Located in a nice neighborhood, loved the truffle fries for appetizer, the blue cheese burger, and Blond ale! Very good service, super friendly staffs! Dont go there during regular lunch/dinner time! Come before or after those hours or you will have to get in a loooong line….. The mac and cheese appetizer is so good! Too bad the portion is so small…
This is a great lunch and dinner spot in Claremont for burgers, salads, tacos, soup, and heartier fare. Craft beers on tap, wine and creative cocktails draw locals, parents of the Claremont Colleges, and visitors to this fun spot. There is a big wood deck for dining alfresco, a large bar for socializing with a drink near the interior dining area. The servers are young and fun at this casual gastropub. What to order:I love the Veggie Beet Burger made with a housemade red beet and kidney bean patty. It’s just one of the ten burgers offered. Stacked on top of this burger are housemade pickles, sliced tomatoes, red onion a little arugula and sprinkling of lemon vinaigrette. It’s served with signature handcut fries. I like to substitute with the Pacific Cole Slaw with peanuts. It’s lighter and refreshing. They also have sweet potato fries. Each day they serve a soup of the day. Salads are a good size and range from a watermelon, quinoa, arugula with feta to a steak salad with a flat-iron steak, shoe string onion rings and blue cheese.Hearty entrees include pan seared salmon, all day breakfast burrito, and lemongrass pork sandwich. Parking is easy in the multi- level garage. Walk around Claremont after you put your name on the list (it can get busy) or after your meal. The town is quaint and has its own train station. dineandtravel.wordpress.com

Constantly packed and I can see why. While I was sad to see the more upscale Three Forks go, Eureka has moved into the space and quickly ascended up the ranks of Claremont eateries in terms of popularity. You’d be hard pressed to find an hour where the place was not full!I decided to give it a try for dinner. I think the menu could use a little work, refining some of their bolder burger combinations a bit and adding a couple of reliable, traditional favorites. That said, the burger itself is very juicy. Generally, I get bored with a burger at the first sign of satiation, but this one enticed me to keep eating for sure. The service was pretty solid, the kitchen could have been a little stronger assembling the burgers (e.g. all the bleu cheese on one side of the patty on one burger, vinegar dripping all over one side of another). They also have a wide variety of wines and a decent number of beers on tap. Overall this is a nice place to go for a quick bite, nothing earth-shaking but at the same time I can see what the fuss is about.
Wanna-be Burger joint. Ya they have all the trendy burgers, but when I order a substitute for onion rings that included a $1.50 fee I didn’t know I was only gonna get 3 of them. Weak!!! Snobby burger service. There plenty of better burger joints out there. Definitely not a LA joint. Back Abbey way better in service and beer selection. Food is better as well- not a whole lot of selection, but best beer selection of good Belgium’s.
Good stuff– this place has a nice balcony and peaceful atmosphere. Food is good, fresh cut fries were off the chain!
Best Burgers in Claremont. I’ve tried all the burger joints in Claremont and this one is hands down the best. Better than Back Abbey and Heroes, superior service, friendly staff that knows about what they’re selling, and to top it off their beer selection is extensive, constantly rotating in a new variety of drink choices, and nothing short of absolutely fantastic. Just the burger with a side is usually in the $10-15 range, which is really good for the quality of what you get. I usually end up getting more sides and beer too of course. My personal favorites there are the Pearl Street Blues burger with a side order of the Truffle Fries and whatever good IPA they have on tap (the LULU burger, Jalapeno Egg, and Tortilla burgers are also pretty damn good too). I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area that has yet to give it a shot.
